Join Military No Stress PCS and Wreaths Across America in Honoring our Fallen
Two different organizations have one identical mission: To honor those who serve.
Starting this month, these two organizations – Military No Stress PCS and Wreaths Across America – have teamed up to inspire everyone to embrace their charge.
Wreaths Across America, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 2007. It is the brainchild of Morrill Worcester, owner of Worcester Wreath Company of Harrington, Maine. According to the organization’s website (www.wreathsacrossamerica.org), Worchester Wreath Company had a surplus of wreaths at the end of the holiday season in 1992. Worchester decided to use those wreaths to show reverence to the Fallen. Worcester worked with a Senator from Maine to be able to take the excess wreaths to Arlington National Cemetery and place them in one of the older sections of the cemetery where few people visited. This gesture has become an annual tribute.
Every December, Wreaths Across America holds a “National Wreaths Across America Day.” On this day, wreath-laying ceremonies are held at Arlington National Cemetery and at more than 2,500 locations across the country and overseas. The goal of these ceremonies (and the nonprofit as a whole) is to remember the Fallen, to honor those who serve, and to teach our children the value of freedom.
As you likely know, Military No Stress PCS, also a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 2021 to offer free research and planning services to military families to help them have a successful PCS. The organization is the brainchild of Rob Schelle of Tampa, Florida.
Military No Stress PCS is now a proud sponsorship group of Wreaths Across America. This year, National Wreaths Across America Day will be held on December 17, 2022. Starting today through November 28, 2022, you can help us pay tribute to the Fallen with a wreath sponsorship.
For $15, you can sponsor a wreath that will honor veterans laid to rest at the following locations: Arlington National Cemetery, Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Florida Hills Memorial Gardens, and Quantico National Cemetery. Wreaths will be sent directly to the location of your choice.
