A Year in Review: 2023 and the Road Ahead
As we bid farewell to 2023, we want to take a moment to reflect on the many ways we’ve assisted military families throughout the year. From the Essay Contest that provided military children with laptops to the heartwarming tributes of Wreaths Across America, we celebrate all that has been accomplished over the past year, and set our sights on the promising horizon of 2024.
The year 2023 was full of growth and purpose. We proudly achieved recognition as an officially designated Military OneSource PCS Resource, celebrated our second year as a 501(c)(3), and gained our Platinum Transparency from Candid. This Platinum achievement indicates that we share clear and important information to the public about our goals, strategies, and progress indicators that highlight the difference we make in the world! Additionally, the launch of our new website marked a significant step forward, improving accessibility and engagement within our community. And, we can let the numbers speak for themselves, we’ve impacted the lives of over 1,120 individuals through our concierge program. These achievements underscore our commitment to making a meaningful impact on the lives of those who serve in our armed forces.
Throughout the year, our commitment to giving back has been steadfast. During Military Spouse Appreciation Month in May month, we expressed gratitude by awarding $50 gift cards through Spouse-ly, an online marketplace created by military and first responder families. Additionally, during the Month of the Military Child in April, we organized an Essay Contest for children of military members in grades K-12. The four winners received brand-new laptops in recognition of their creativity and resilience!
In December, our team stood shoulder to shoulder with their hometown communities for Wreaths Across America, showing a physical display of their unity and honor to our nation’s heroes. The heartfelt ceremony and dedication of the volunteers made this year’s events truly special. We are proud to announce that, along with the help of supporters like you, we sponsored 306 wreaths!
Looking forward, our vision for 2024 is ambitious. We’re expanding our commitment to assist individuals in their transition from service life to civilian life; recognizing and addressing the importance of holistic support for their transition. For Wreaths Across America, we’re raising our fundraising goal to 500 wreaths, symbolizing our gratitude and homage for the fallen. We’re excited to announce plans to broaden our network of referral partners, providing a more comprehensive support system and extending our reach to more military bases.
