Four Years of Military No Stress PCS

This October marks four years since Military No Stress PCS became an official 501(c)3. What started as a simple idea to help military families take some of the stress out of PCS moves has grown into a nonprofit that serves service members, veterans, and spouses with relocation help and community connections. For Hannah Stephens, who joined the organization just after its first anniversary, this milestone feels especially meaningful.

“I feel so blessed to have been part of the incredible growth we’ve experienced,” Hannah shared. “From the very beginning, it has been fun and rewarding to give back to the military community in this way. I’ve learned so much, and I’m thankful every day that I get to be a part of this work.”

Over the years, Military No Stress PCS has shifted and stretched to better meet the real-life needs of military families. One of the biggest steps forward has been launching PCS and Transition Services (PATS), which targets their support to service members transitioning out of the military. “While PATS is there to help everyone, it has allowed us to carve out a special place for those leaving the military and looking for a forever home,” Hannah explained.

Along the way, there have been moments that stand out. Hannah recalls one family in particular, a mom moving with several children while her husband was active duty. “She needed help with everything,” Hannah shared. “I was able to call preschools and daycares in her new area, check for doctors who accepted their insurance, and give her solid recommendations. Hearing her relief and knowing I could make the move a little easier was one of those picture-perfect moments. This is why I do what I do.”

For Hannah, working with Military No Stress PCS is more than just a job. It is a calling. “As a civilian, this is my way of giving back to the men and women who have served so selflessly,” she said. “I love our country deeply, and this work allows me to show that love in a real, actionable way.”

Looking ahead, Military No Stress PCS is excited to keep helping families, one move at a time. Hannah explained, “We have always said that we are “grassroots”, and that could not be more true. Word of mouth is powerful. Even if someone does not need our services right now, they might know someone who does. My hope is that within the next few years we continue to reach more families and have them know that we are here to help, and that everything we do is completely free of charge.”

Four years in, Military No Stress PCS continues to grow and adapt, but the heart of the mission remains the same. Every question answered and every connection made is one more step toward making PCS moves a little bit easier.
